This set of screen prints is inspired by the working class ballrooms in Paris in the 1800's where long skirts and lots of petticoats were lifted in an energetic dance to reveal their legs and underwear. The 'high kick' and 'rond de jambe' were two of the moves in this dance which was to become increasingly provocative causing much scandal.
