The backdrop and storyboard for this collection of screen prints draws its impulse directly from the vintage imagery and traditional artistry of circus performers and street artisans during the first half of the 20^th century.

Inspiration is derived from the motifs and design layouts used through that period in illustration, particularly with reference to the theme and styles used for children's books.
