Vanessa's silk screens are inspired by vintage children's and fashion illustration and the glamorous pin-up paintings and photographs of the 1940's and 1950's. The subjects of her prints are influenced by the traditional circus performers and street artisans of the first half of the twentieth century and the Commedia dell'Arte.
